What data the Dimmi apps (speech to text and Translator on Android, Windows, Linux and the web) and this website collect, where it is stored, for how long, who receives it and how to delete it. The page is written from the code of the service.
Who runs the service
Dimmi and this website are run by two individual entrepreneurs — the controllers of your personal data:
- payments in rubles — Individual Entrepreneur Yaroslav Vadimovich Nedoborov, INN 772984535458, OGRNIP 326774600022512
- payments in US dollars — Individual Entrepreneur CreativeAiArt (Sabina Erlanovna Nedoborova), IIN 000926650931
Tax numbers, addresses and email: Contacts
What we collect
- Account: email, name, password (stored only as a hash), your Google account ID if you sign in with Google, plan, minute balance, referral code and your personal replacement dictionary.
- Connected devices: device name, platform, an install ID and the time of last use. Device sign-in tokens are stored only as hashes.
- Voice: to transcribe or translate, the app sends your recording to our processing servers; they pass it to Google for recognition and return the text. These servers save neither the audio nor the text.
- Diagnostics of the Dimmi Android app, sent by default while you are signed in to the app: device model and Android version, app version, timings and technical logs of recent recordings, audio files of recordings, and the full text of recordings you rated or corrected, with your comments. They are stored without your email. The app has no switch to turn this off yet; without signing in, nothing is sent.
- Translator diagnostics (Android and web), on by default: timings, languages, errors and the device ID. The text of translations is added only if you turn on that switch in the settings (off by default); diagnostics can be turned off there as well. Messages sent through the feedback form are stored with your email if you are signed in.
- Video transcription (Android): video fragments are uploaded to Google's cloud storage for processing.
- Usage records for each request: your account number (without an account, a hash of the device ID), a hash of the IP address, app version, recording length, model and cost. No email and no text.
- Payments: amount, currency, status and the payment provider's record of the payment. You enter card details on the provider's page; they never reach us.
- Website: cookies for sign-in (30 days) and language (1 year); ad tags in links and a random visit number to count visits, without IP address or email; server logs with IP address and browser.
- The History of the Android app (text and audio of your recordings) is kept on your phone; there is no copy of it on our servers.
Where it is stored
- Account, payments, diagnostics and feedback messages are stored on our server in Kazakhstan; the website is served through Cloudflare.
- Speech is processed in Google's cloud: our processing servers run in Finland and Singapore. Video fragments are kept in Google's cloud storage; usage records in the database and logs of Google's cloud.
How long we keep it
- Account and devices: until you delete the account.
- Diagnostic audio files: 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Other Android diagnostics: no fixed term; each new upload replaces the previous one.
- Translator diagnostics: 7 days. Feedback messages: no fixed term.
- Video fragments: 1 day.
- Server logs: 90 days in Google's cloud, 14 days on our server.
- Usage records: no fixed term.
- Payments: kept for accounting; after the account is deleted, without your personal data.
Who receives the data
- Google: speech recognition and translation, Translator voice-over, the cloud for our servers, videos, usage records and logs, and sign-in with Google if you choose it.
- YooKassa (payments in rubles) and Dodo Payments (in dollars): your email for the receipt, the amount, the order number and your account number.
- Cloudflare: passes website traffic on to our server.
- The account and download pages load no scripts from other companies: no ads and no third-party analytics.
How to delete your data
You can delete your account yourself: Delete account
This deletes the account, devices, sign-in codes, subscription, Translator diagnostics of your devices and your feedback messages. Payment records are kept for accounting, without your personal data.
Apps already signed in to the account keep working for up to 24 hours after deletion, until their access key expires.
Not deleted with the account: Android diagnostics, which are not linked to the account (audio is deleted after 30 days anyway), and usage records, which hold an account number but no email.
The History on your phone is deleted in the app or together with the app.
